Benefits of the Martin Dimple Wheels

• Improved Seed-Slot Closing the lobes around the periphery of the 14” wheel help crumble and close the seed slot more effectively than standard cast closing wheels, especially in higher moisture content or higher clay content soils.
• Reduced Bouncing Needham Ag research has found Martin Dimple Weels bounce over 20% less than standard cast closing wheels. This keeps the closing wheels in contact with the soil, for better closing of the seed slot more of the time.
• Improved Reliability for 750 and 1850 drills and air-seeders. The Martin Dimple Weels come standard with a hub, installed with a high quality 5203 sealed bearing (same bearing as John Deere utilizes in their gauge wheels). This eliminates the headaches of frequent seal and bearing failures within the early cast closing wheels.

NEW 20 point Crumbler Wheels

Phil Needham helped develop the 20 point crumbler wheel during the fall of 2006 and they have been performing very well on both planters and single disc seeders. The closer points crumble the seed slot closed, allowing faster emergence with less chance of crusting.

20 point crumbler wheels are available for installation on a John Deere 750 or 1850 (pictured left) which comes complete with a hub and high quality bearing.

20 point crumbler wheels are also available for a 1560, 1590, 1860 or 1890 utilizing the existing bearing and housing, so all that’s required for installation is a longer bolt, spacer and tube. All of these components are included within the bundle for a 60 or 90 series seeder.
